The Football Association of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) intends to protest the defeat of its team from Qatar (0: 4) in the semifinal of the Asian Cup. It is reported by The New York Times.
The Qatar team was accused of bringing two athletes born outside the state and not living in Qatar for five years after reaching the age of 18 under their banner.
22-year-old striker Ali Almoez was born in Sudan, and 21-year-old defender Basim Al-Ravi in Iraq. The Asian Football Confederation has confirmed that this protest has been received and is studying the UAE claim.
On January 29, Qatar defeated the UAE, making it to the Asian Cup final. Forward Ali Almoez scored one of the goals against the team of the Emirate.
