A flock of sharks spotted off the coast of the UAE

The Society of Fishermen of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah announced that several sharks were safe for people near the beach.

Near the beach of Ghalila in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE), eyewitnesses noticed several sharks at different times of the day.

The Emirate Society of Fishermen has stated that these sharks are small, and at this time of the year they often appear near the sea coast in search of food.

Humeid Al Zaabi, deputy chairman of the emirate’s fishermen’s society, said that no shark attacks on humans have been recorded.

Dr. Saif Al Ghais, Executive Director of the Department of Environment and Development in Ras Al Khaimah, said that such sharks pose no danger to humans.

"They just float away if they feel that a person is nearby," he said.
