Alberto Morillas himself, who flew to Dubai to present his perfumes, told us what distinguishes the new perfume from all those created by Carolina Herrera.
Alberto, you grew up in Spain, studied in Geneva, and work with clients around the world. What's the hardest part about creating custom-made perfumes?
I draw inspiration from meeting clients. Their words and wishes are very important. It is moments of approximation and similarity that are key factors in the creation of new spirits, as they help make them unlike others.
What is the difference between 212 VIP?
In the keynote. Carolina Herreira Jr. and I decided to ask everyone a question: "Is your name on the list?" This phrase came into our lives from the world of VIPperson, but has nothing to do with money or fame. Being “on the list” means more that you have a vibrant personality and your own outlook on the world. 212 VIP perfume is a bright and festive floral fragrance that combines both style and attitude.
As a resident of the Mediterranean, what have you brought to these spirits?
The fragrance 212 VIP consists of three important notes: joy, secularism and style. The joy is expressed in chords of dark rum and exotic passionflower - this explosive cocktail can be drunk endlessly! Belonging to secular society is an important part of the daily life of the modern “212 VIP generation”. I tried to convey it with rich notes of musk and subtle gardenias that create an unrivaled aura. The style is created by ingredients that can convey extraordinary charm, and among them - ultra-feminine vanilla and sensual tonka bean. They give spirits originality and sophistication.
Some perfumers say vanilla is an old-fashioned perfume ingredient. Do you think so too?
Of course not. There are a lot of varieties of vanilla. A skilled perfumer will always choose the right shade for his aroma. I think vanilla at 212 VIP sounds great.
What does luxury mean to you?
I studied a lot and traveled a lot. In the past, spirits were created in order to transfer people to another world, to another dimension. They were the personification of luxury: actually the aroma, the shape of the bottle and the sonorous name were invited on a journey associated with the study of new countries and continents. Today, people travel more and the concept of luxury has changed a lot. Our contemporaries interpret luxury as their own experience or feelings given to them.
So you enclosed 212 VIPs in a golden bottle?
Maybe yes. In my opinion, a streamlined golden bottle is an object that will decorate any woman’s boudoir. In addition, he gives spirits a magical glow.
Where does that woman live who falls in love with the fragrance 212 VIP completely and irrevocably?
Anywhere - in New York, Paris, Moscow, Barcelona, Milan, London, Dubai, Tokyo ... As soon as she realizes that "her name is on the list," there will be no turning back. Fragrance 212 VIP will become her companion. For a long time. If not forever.
