Russia has become the fastest growing market for Dubai airports

The Dubai Airports company reported that in the first quarter of this year, the volume of passenger traffic to the emirate from Russia and the CIS countries increased by 47%, from 245 thousand people last year to 359 thousand this year. This region has become the fastest growing market for Dubai's air terminals. This is primarily due to the emergence of new destinations in the airline route network. Currently, flights to 10 cities of Russia are carried out from Dubai. A total of 52 flights per week. Flydubai, a low-cost carrier in the United Arab Emirates, made its significant contribution to overall passenger growth, which served almost 577 thousand passengers in the first three months of this year. Twice a week, the company's planes fly to Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Ufa and Samara.

In addition, the “push” for increasing passenger traffic was the beginning of daily flights of Emirates Airline to St. Petersburg in November last year, as well as an increased number of flights by Russian companies Transaero and Ural Airlines. Thus, the "northern capital" of Russia, along with Moscow, was included in the list of 20 fastest growing markets for Dubai International Airport. "Dubai International Airport is seen as a key center that allows passengers from Russia to travel around the world. We strive to constantly develop a list of services so that our passengers can spend time in the terminal with benefit and comfort," said Paul Griffiths, chief executive officer of the company Dubai Airports.
