Dubai authorities allow car owners to choose a license plate number for their car with a memorable date.
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new phase of its initiative with memorable dates on car numbers - now for the W series.
The initiative gives car owners the opportunity to choose digits for 5-digit numbers that refer to important dates and events in their life, such as birthdays, weddings, and so on. The available range of numbers refers to the period from 1967 to 2018. The first two digits in the number are responsible for the day, the third for the month, and the last two for the year.
Jamal Hashim Assada, director of the RTA licensing agency, said the room would cost AED 1,670 ($ US 454).
"Customers can buy these numbers directly at customer service centers in Dubai, from suppliers and strategic partners, on the RTA website www.rta.ae or through the smart Dubai Drive app. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to make people happier," explained he.
