General developer Nakheel has signed a contract for the construction of Deira Mall, a new shopping, restaurant and entertainment center, with United Engineering Construction.
Deira Mall, with a total value of 6.1 billion dirhams ($ US 1.6 billion), will become the largest shopping center in the Middle East. It will also be the largest mall in terms of rental space, and the signed contract for AED 4.2 billion ($ US 1.1 billion) has become one of the largest in terms of volume in Dubai in recent years.
Construction will begin in the first quarter of this year and will be completed in 2021.
Under the roof of Deira Mall, more than 1,000 shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues with a total area of 4.5 million square meters will find their place. ft. of leased space. The mall will also have a multi-storey car park with 8.4 thousand parking spaces.

Nakheel is also building several hotels and resorts on the Deira Islands, including an 800-room beach resort along with the Spanish RIU Hotels & Resorts and a 600-room resort in partnership with Thai Centara Hotels & Resorts. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Hilton to manage a 250-room hotel and 200 serviced apartments on the Deira Islands under the DoubleTree brand.
As a result of all these projects, the Deira embankment will turn the district known as Old Dubai into a world-class retail, tourism and leisure center. Upon completion of the project more than 250 thousand people will live here.
