Hundreds of thousands of new jobs will be created for UAE citizens

A program is starting in the UAE, under which about 300 thousand jobs for UAE citizens will be created in the country.

Nasser Ibn Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, announced the new program “100 days for emiratization in three areas”, which aims to create jobs for UAE citizens in the telecommunications, construction, aviation and transport sectors.

According to the minister, these industries account for more than 28 percent of the UAE's gross domestic product.

Speaking at a press conference at the Al Bateen Council in Abu Dhabi, the minister said that there are 12 important sectors in the country's economy, six of which make up the lion's share of GDP and provide a large number of high-paying jobs. In the near future, almost 300,000 new jobs will be created in these sectors for UAE citizens.

This event was attended by both businessmen and ordinary citizens.

Al Hamli noted that increasing the fee for ministry services is part of a strategy to increase the rate of emiratization in the private sector and increase the efficiency of public servants by 40 percent by 2021.

He added that low labor costs stimulate the employment of emirates. "It is expected that in the next half year about 200 thousand citizens of the UAE will enter the labor market," the minister added.

Mr. Al Hamli noted that the ministry is working on the program “Club of supporters of emiratization”, under which fees for the extension of work permits have been reduced. The minister also added that the company, which employs more than 3% of UAE citizens, falls into the platinum category. The fee for issuing a work permit for such companies is not 300 dirhams, but 300.

The Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue between the authorities and the population in order to understand the needs of citizens.

"The Ministry takes care of holding regular meetings with citizens in order to find out the opinion of the people about the services provided by the Ministry and provide citizens with all the employment opportunities."
