Rochester Institute of Technology Launches $ 136 Million New Dubai Campus
The American University of Rochester Institute of Technology will launch a new campus in Dubai worth 500 million dirhams ($ 136.1 million) in Dubai in response to growing student demand.
The new facility in Dubai Silicon Oasis will occupy a total of 129 thousand square meters. m and accommodates up to 4 thousand students.
RIT Dubai will be completed in two phases. The first of them is planned to be implemented next year. The second phase will be completed in 2023.
Distinctive features of the campus will be an interactive training courtyard with an enterprise center and a student dormitory, separated by green territory.
The campus will organize schools of electronic engineering and computer technology, engineering, the humanities, as well as a business and management school.
“Science and technology play a vital role in achieving the goals of the UAE Vision 2021 strategy,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority. “I hope to see more such projects in the UAE in support of the country's innovative growth.”
By 2020, the number of students in the region is expected to increase to 15 million.
