Henley & Partners has named the UAE the leader in its Residency for Investment programs.
Dubai, UAE. Henley & Partners, an international company, has recognized the United Arab Emirates as the leader country for its residency program in the Middle East and North Africa region this year, according to a study from the Global Residence and Citizenship Programs (GRCP) 2017-2018.
The report notes that the UAE is strengthening its position in the ranking, but they may be affected by the introduction of VAT from January 1, 2018. Globally, the Emirates occupies 11th place in the ranking, where 20 residency programs were analyzed. Thus, compared with last year, the country has risen two lines.
"The UAE offers a high quality of life and security for residents. It is a great place to do business, giving direct access to the entire Middle East market," the report said, which states that "residents are exempt from a number of taxes."
Experts explain that the desire to find a second home is due to wealthy people not only the need to improve the quality of life, but also to reduce the amount of taxes, profitable to invest, travel more or discover new business opportunities. Portuguese was recognized as the best residency program in the world, followed by Austrian and Belgian.
