MITT is not afraid of the number "13"

At the end of March, Moscow hosted the thirteenth time the international exhibition MITT-2006, dedicated to travel and tourism.

The Expocenter on Krasnaya Presnya, not afraid of the "fatal" figure, hospitably opened the doors of four pavilions to Russian and international tourism industry professionals, who hastened to talk about their programs for the next six months.

The event was supported by the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation, the Committee on Economic Policy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, the Committee on Tourism of Moscow and the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs.

Now MITT is considered the third most popular event of this kind in the world. This time around 2700 companies from 110 countries participated in the exhibition. In total, 110 thousand people visited it, which is much more than last year. The guests of the exposition unanimously expressed gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to conduct a conversation in the same language with specialists not only in Russia, but also in the whole world.

This view is shared by Tom Wright, Executive Director of VisitBritain. “It is difficult to challenge the significance of the MITT exhibition,” he says. “This is the most professionally organized event of its kind in Russia. We consider our participation in MITT to be the most successful investment in this country.”

Khalifa Ali Buamaim, head of the Department of International Advertising Campaigns at the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of the Government of Dubai, holds a similar position. “The exhibition,” he said, “is organized in accordance with high standards. We are steadily participating in this exhibition, as we see excellent opportunities for signing profitable agreements, searching for new partners and establishing useful contacts based on the results and experience of past years.”

Among many other companies from the UAE, the Fujairah Travel Bureau participated in the MITT-2006 exhibition. The Emirate of Dubai was represented not only by the DTCM booth, but also by the Arabian Courtyard, Coral Beach Resort, Crowne Plaza, Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Dusit, Grosvenor House hotels, Jebel Ali International hotel chain, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, Sheraton hotels , Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, Sofitel City Center and BurJuman Shopping Center.

The stands of Millennium and Oceanic hotels, the Office of Commerce and Tourism Development, and the international airport spoke about the Sharjah emirate.

The achievements and offers of the tourism industry of the Emirates could be judged by the stands of Arabian Desert Tours, Arabian Dream Tours, Arabian Explorers, Arabian Link Tours, Desert Adventures Tourism, Destinations of the World Travel & Tourism, Fox Tours, Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group, Hotel Holiday International, Knight Tours & Cargo, Passage of Arabia, Planet Travels Tours & Cargo, Reem Tours, Royal Park Tourism Services and Travco.

According to Alexander Shtalenkov, CEO of the organizing company ITE LLC Moscow, the MITT exhibition is the only tourism exhibition in Russia that has won international recognition. Within its walls, travel industry professionals receive comprehensive information about the state of world tourism markets, about the prospects and trends of their development, about new programs and offers of tour operators, hoteliers and carriers for the spring-summer season.
