Lola Marc Jacobs Secrets Named

The famous couturier, art director of the Louis Vuitton fashion house and one of the leading designers in America, Marc Jacobs continues to create, both under his own brand and in the name of the legendary LV. Known to many of her fans in the world also thanks to the iconic women's perfume Daisy by Marc Jacobs, today Mark tells us about how his new perfume “LOLA” was born.

Mark, what inspired you to create LOLA?

When I started thinking about this new fragrance, I first reflected on which perfumes should follow Daisy. It seemed to me that it would be great to do something a little more flirty, seductive, warm, sexy. I started with a search for the mood, spirit and character of a young girl, in principle with the same thing as the Daisy perfume began. As a result, I came up with the idea of LOLA, which sounds a little more provocative, bold and frivolous.

Please tell us a little about the name "Lola" (LOLA), because we know that you really like it.

If an idea settles in my head, I cannot get rid of it. In my mind, I imagined that Lola is a kind of seductress who tempts the imagination. The most remarkable luxury in the world of fashion and perfume is that you are constantly immersed in different states, different feelings and different moods, when you most want it. “Lola” is just that very different mood and a different spirit.

How did you come up with such an incredible packaging for LOLA?

I worked on my spa collection and was constantly surrounded by all these fabrics, leather, lace. I took a couple of pieces of leather and fabric from the table and started twisting them into an abstract shape resembling a flower. It was some kind of instinctive impulse, thanks to which I folded this flower from fabric. I liked the idea that the flower has such large proportions and looks as if some force pushed it out of the perfume bottle. At that moment, I was still in the world of my Daisy perfumes, and I really liked the joy that the appearance of the bottle for the new fragrance evoked in people, that's why I created this flower from genuine leather. The color scheme and design of the packaging box naturally followed the basic idea.

How would you describe the meaning of the word sexuality?

Everyone is well aware of my statements about the fact that I do not find this or that clothing or certain people sexual. However, I am lucky, as I am acquainted with many really beautiful women. All of them are surprisingly sexy, but not in the generally accepted sense. In other words, they are not frankly sexy, they just look very sexy for other people, because they have a lot to offer, in addition, they are interesting, charming, creative, energetic and amazingly beautiful women. For example, a dress may look non-sexual from my point of view, but a woman can turn it into a very sexy one, thanks to her demeanor and the way she wears this dress.

Why and how did you choose Carly Kloss for your advertising campaign?

Every season I work at fashion shows and see hundreds of young girls. When it was time to shoot for this ad campaign, it seemed to me that Carly would do. There was something mischievous in her eyes. There is something elusive about her that I really like about her. She is young, fresh and somewhat naive. She is able to cheer up. And she is very, very beautiful and sweet.

Then tell me, what do you see the difference between the perfume Daisy and Lola?

The Daisy fragrance contains some freshness and naivety, as well as purity, innocence and lightness. Lola has a slightly darker and sharper flavor. It has a little flirting, a little piquancy and passion.

But in its essence?

I don’t know, I really like the smell of these perfumes, and I’m not saying this because they are mine.

There is some kind of energetic connection between these spirits and their conception ... Do you think?

True, such a connection is felt. I, in fact, am sure that LOLA perfumes look exactly as they should - in this bottle, with this cap in the shape of a giant flower. And I am also sure that they coincide exactly with the feminine character that originally inspired me to create them.

Well thanks, Mark. We hope that your new LOLA fragrance will appeal to many girls and women.
