Ksenia, how relevant is the nail extension procedure today?
Nail modeling is a great opportunity to have well-groomed hands for all women. After all, unfortunately, a fairly large percentage of women can not boast of beautiful natural nails. There can be many reasons: either the addiction to bite them, or the ugly form "by nature", or excessive subtlety, and accordingly, brittleness, or a tendency to stratification, or any damage and injury. But hands are such an important part of the whole look that sometimes all the efforts of the stylist, all jewelry and outfits are crossed out precisely by peeling nail polish and burrs.
Please tell us about modern materials for modeling.
Modern materials are absolutely safe for health, and the latest ones have come to the dentistry industry for nail care. However, since the first build-up appeared in our country about 15 years ago, when there were neither training technologies (training of specialists, literally, took place on the clients), nor centralized certified deliveries, often the results were deplorable. Modern technologies provide harmlessness, non-aggressiveness and hypoallergenic material for building, manufacturing corporations have a thorough research base, all materials undergo the most serious certification, including medical testing.
That is, can we say that the new materials are completely non-toxic?
Absolutely. Previously, acrylic for nail extension was made on the basis of toxic methyl, and now it is harmless ethyl, so specialists in nail salons also do not suffer, although earlier some artists even provoked the development of bronchial asthma.
And, nevertheless, a somewhat negative attitude to nail extensions can be traced quite clearly ...
Indeed, from the nineties of the last century to this day several myths have survived, because of which many women do not even consider nail modeling for themselves, as an alternative to a regular tedious classic manicure. Let's try to debunk these myths. So…
Myth No. 1: Extension spoils nails.
It does not spoil at all, because according to the new technology the nail itself is not subjected to filing, it only degreases (if the client realizes that the master is going to file his nails before modeling, you must immediately run away from such a salon). Rather, the modeling coating just protects the nails from aggressive external influences. Sometimes after removing the extended nails, the clients found strongly strengthened and improved their own nails - obviously “rested” from the external environment.
Of course, in no case can you remove annoying acrylic nails on your own - this is an exclusively salon procedure. And, finally, do not resort to building at an unrealistically low price, according to the announcement, at home - in this case the technology, the necessary sterility may not be followed, the fungus may be introduced; that is, there are no quality guarantees whatsoever. During any procedure, I would recommend asking the master more questions - about antiseptics, the manufacturer, and so on. Literacy and the maximum of important information are never superfluous.
Myth number 2: Under acrylic or gel, the nail does not breathe.
The nail does not breathe at all - it only absorbs and releases moisture.
Myth No. 3: Under the modeling coating, the nail is devoid of nutrition.
Our nail is fed mainly from the inside. Moreover, the extended nail has a small thin uncoated strip in the area of the hole - rubbing nutritious oils here, we will completely satisfy the need of the nail for external makeup. So you can wear extended nails for as long as you want - the health of the nail plate does not suffer from this at all.
What are contraindications for building?
Diseases of the endocrine system, the use of antibiotics and recent general anesthesia, hormonal surges, diabetes mellitus, pregnancy (although some patients with diabetes and some pregnant women still do not refuse the procedure of building up). Of course, a good specialist will certainly ask about all this before the procedure in order to eliminate the risk factor for the client’s health.
Does it happen that the material does not stick to the nails?
Yes, although it is extremely rare, but sometimes the material "does not get up" - then you need to look, experiment, maybe this is a reaction to a particular brand. Although there are cases when building is not possible at all: for example, if the nail has an individual peculiarity to excess moisture.
How to care for extended nails immediately after the procedure?
First, the correction takes place a little more often - until the nail gets used to it, then the growth of nails slows down, it returns to normal. Cuticles and nail rollers after building grow much more slowly. The first manicure is best done two to three days after the simulation; and two weeks - no worries, no troubles.
Ksenia, what is your favorite decorative technique?
Most of all I like the natural effect. Decorative additives, color gels, aquarium effect - all this is wonderful. But very, very impractical! It is impossible to correct such nails - everything needs to be done anew. Of course, this is very beneficial for the salon, but I feel sorry for my clients - I know many many years ago, and I really do not want to ruin them. Better every time I will apply a new interesting pattern of varnish to the corrected nails.
And of the decorative techniques, I really like French manicure (French). The nails look natural - and at the same time unusually stylish.
