Believe me, I am a dancer!

You can be slim and flexible. You can be fat and flimsy. You can be a woman. A man. The girl. Boys. It can be both grandparents. You can be an office worker or a waiter in a restaurant. You can be a big boss, an oligarch. You can - an engineer, journalist, makeup artist, business development manager, seller of balloons. Nationality and passport can also be any. When you go to the dance floor, all of the above ceases to have at least some significance. You are a dancer. And - a dance. And the only important thing is how the music lives in you and manifests itself.

There are many dancing people in the Emirates. This is a whole conglomerate, such a really heterogeneous and, often, messy, commune of those who dance at night with a sweat and sleep in the office in the morning in front of a computer. And so - several times a week, and on weekends - even more so. The infection is worse than the bird and swine flu. If you caught this virus, then write it is lost - your legs will themselves be carried on the dance floor, even if you need to work as president in the morning.

It is such "seriously ill" people who stand behind the Dubai Dance Festival, which for the third year in a row has gathered everyone together to show themselves and to infect others. Good thing.

This year the festival was held almost under the slogan given to him by the main dance performance "Believe me, I am a dancer", which could be seen on June 3 and 4 on the stage of the First Group Theater in the Madinat Jumeirah complex.

The plot is simple: a young man named Farid, who works as an assistant to the owner of a dance club, tries all the way to convince his boss that he is no worse than professional dancers invited by him to the casting. And, as it happens in good stories, he, in the end, manages to prove it by accident. And Farid becomes a star. And everyone is happy, and everyone is dancing together. Because they live alone - dance.

Those who are not members of the Emirate dance party have been shown how it lives. For the most part, social Latin American dances: salsa (for the most part), bachata, zook. The mass popularity of these is due to the fact that, unlike Latin American ballroom dances, social dances do not require special training. By and large, social dancing is within the reach of anyone.

Proof of this were the speakers on the stage: for almost all of them, dance is a hobby that has become more than the main work.

But what is good about the Emirates is that in a multinational society there are those who preach their own: there was tango, there was ballet, and flamenco, and hip-hop, modern dances, there were Brazilians with their own dance - the martial art of "capoeira". The good thing is that in the UAE, everyone can choose a dance to their liking and start studying without traveling to Cuba, Colombia, Argentina, Spain or Brazil. There are quite talented and enthusiastic dancers in the Emirates.

The Emirate dance party, where almost everyone knows each other in person, showed the public homegrown talents: famous salsa teachers from Dubai, James and Alex, metropolitan celebrities JJ and Naidu, the ancestors of Zook and Lambada in the Emirates, Sam and Nyan, and their talented students who have already become teachers , Aasima and Elena (to be proud to say, our compatriot), brothers and salsa brothers Mo, and all the beloved professional dancers from the Dubai BNF Dance Company dance school, whose tango is above all s delight. There were also guests from Europe, the USA, Spain, Morocco, and Turkey at the festival. Range - for every taste. In the evenings, after demonstrations and master classes (of which there were almost 30 this year), the dance party flowed smoothly to the dance floors of the parties, where professionals performed miracles, and newcomers stared at it and absorbed it.

Fred Astaire once quite correctly remarked that those who want to stomp their feet with anger should learn the step. And so it is: it’s not just taking up the legs with a useful task, but it will also take away all the anger by hand. Or foot. No matter. The important thing is that the dance is so soldered into our human genetics that anyone can live in the dance. Dance can be enjoyed. Dance can be cured. You can learn life by dancing. You can simply admire the dance. "Dance is life" - it sounds so trite, but how much is the truth of life. That's why he and the dance - such a multifaceted and such a natural process in human existence, that under the force and for the benefit of anyone. The main thing is to give the body the opportunity to speak, and the soul to move.

It doesn't matter how well you dance. The important thing is that you put all of yourself into the dance and already in the morning, tired, drenched to the skin and incredibly happy, bounce on the way home from the accumulated adrenaline and want to shout to the world - "Believe me! I am a dancer!".
